Sponsor Envelopes Are On Their Way!

Every year our dedicated sponsors patiently await their envelopes containing sponsored child’s reports, samples of his or her work and photographs. We’re happy to report that the packets are on their way. Thanks so much, VMS Sponsors, and do enjoy!

Please contact us if you think you would like to sponsor a child. The cost for sponsoring a child is $600 annually which can be paid in recurring monthly or quarterly payments or in full. We encourage “sharing” the cost of a child’s sponsorship with as many work friends or family members as you’d like. You’ll be changing a child’s life!

Thank You.

Computer Training Update...and corrections!

Try as we might to communicate with our friends in South Africa via emails and phone, our ‘facts’ are occasionally confused.

Gilbert did conduct two workshops last Saturday but his tutelage was for 2 groups of students 15 to 19 years of age AND the classes will be held for consecutive Saturdays rather than the stated single class.  Please forgive the error.  Everything else in the February 12th blog is correct.

Thanks to the folks who made donations (you know who  you are and will be hearing from us soon if you haven't already!) we will be continuing the program for at least two more Saturdays. We would love to see it continue and grow!

If you would like to sponsor an eager student’s one day computer session then please consider a $5 donation.

Thank You!

Donations can be made through HFL at: http://www.hopeforlimpopo.org/main/donate/.

Run, Teresa, Run!

Teresa Bertoncin, our valuable VMS Peace Corps volunteer will be completing her PC assignment in March. While we will be sad to see her go, the Limpopo teenagers who formed the ‘Positive Teens on the Run’ running group under her tutelage will no longer have access to the one person who encouraged them to excel.

Hopefully Teresa will help us to continue to support these brave young runners, all of whom are HIV+, in their quest to run a total of 40,008 kilometers which equals one circling of the globe. This goal they dedicate to young people who have died directly or indirectly as a result of stigma and discrimination.

HFL is continuing the effort to sponsor each one of these runners. If any of our followers is aware of a private running group , high school or college track team that would like to sponsor these underprivileged runners, (or if anyone would like to do so themselves) please contact us.

In the meantime, we wish Teresa “Good Luck!” as she runs her last marathon beside 24 determined, lifelong friends.

Computer lessons to begin, but we need your help…

Hope for Limpopo (HFL) is funding a 1 day tutorial for a limited number of students!

A bright young Zimbabwean who holds a computer science degree was introduced to Vhutshilo Mountain School (VMS) through the Methodist Church in Louis Trichardt.  ‘Gilbert’ has agreed to conduct 2 introductory computer training sessions this Saturday at VMS: the first for 5 students ages 8 to 10 years and the second session for 5 additional children ages 10 to 12.

We are thrilled so many of our young students are anxious to develop basic computer skills and wish we were able to offer this opportunity to all of our eager students.

If you or anyone you know is interested in providing a student the opportunity to gain computer skills, please consider a $5 contribution.

Donations can be made through HFL at http://www.hopeforlimpopo.org/main/donate/.

Watch for pictures!  We will be posting photos of the initial computer training day on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/HopeforLimpopo/ and on our blog at  http://hopeforlimpopo.blogspot.com/.

We hope you will consider helping…

Thank you!
