The Thohoyandou Victim Empowerment Program (TVEP) is
an NGO in the Limpopo Province of South Africa which HFL proudly supports. TVEP provides support, prevention, and empowerment services in five areas including HIV/AIDS; child
abuse; domestic violence; sexual assault; and LGBTI issues.
While in South Africa we met
with members of the TVEP Management Team to review ongoing programs as well as
current and future needs.
We were quite impressed by
their professionalism, knowledge, and the progress that has been made in
“turning victims into survivors”. TVEP’s
firm belief that there is “no excuse for abuse” or discrimination continues to
inspire the surrounding communities to make necessary changes.
