No Where to Sleep

Jo Ann’s recent trip to the Tshilidzini Special School in Limpopo Province proved to be quite productive. While the children’s needs are many and our focus has always been on providing an effective education for the 363 special needs students who attend TSS, Jo Ann became aware of more pressing basic issues.  The dormitory is spartan, but more importantly, there aren’t sufficient beds for all of the students.  The mattresses that ARE available are old, foul-smelling and urine stained. We have decided to make ‘new mattresses’ an HFL priority.  It is unrealistic to expect these eager young “learners” to succeed when they are unable to get adequate rest.

A medium density foam mattress covered with medi-care waterproof fabric costs $97.50 (USD). We would be happy to combine your contribution with other donations in an effort to purchase one of these mattresses. If you would like to assist us in this most basic endeavor, please contact us at  info@hopeforlimpopo.org.  Thank you!
